Asbestos Abatement

AM/PM Is Your Resource For Asbestos Abatement

Many people believe that asbestos is a problem of the past and that it was banned in the United States decades ago. The truth is, the use of asbestos has never been banned in the US. In fact, many building materials used in construction today could contain asbestos fibers. Asbestos containing building material poses no harm to people unless those materials are disturbed and the fibers become airborne. When inhaled, the fibers can remain in the body for years, sometimes even decades, eventually leading to asbestos-related diseases. One of the most common ways asbestos containing material is disturbed, occurs during renovation and demolition projects.

The best way to avoid disturbing asbestos is by confirming it’s absence/presence in the areas you plan to demolish/renovate through testing. The team at AM/PM will facilitate the testing of the area to be renovated prior to demolition. All asbestos samples will be submitted to a third party, independent lab for professional analysis. If asbestos is found, AM/PM will provide a detailed scope of work and a fair estimate for the asbestos abatement.

Once the estimate has been approved, AM/PM’s experienced, certified asbestos abatement team will protect your property and it’s occupants through the use of engineering controls and HEPA air filtration; and, our methodologies are always in compliance with industry standards.
We will contain the affected areas, set up a negative pressure enclosure, and remove all asbestos containing materials in the area within the scope of work.

Once the asbestos abatement is complete, our professional staff recommends that closure testing be performed by a qualified, third party evaluator. The samples are then sent to a third-party laboratory to be analyzed and a report is generated with the laboratory findings.

We believe strongly in using a third-party hygienist and laboratory. This helps avoid conflict of interest between the party performing the asbestos abatement and the party confirming that the affected areas have been abated properly.

Once clearance results have been achieved, you can proceed with your renovation project as planned.
